Performative Banquet around Ritual for Adèle Hugues at Reille's Chapel, Village Reille Paris 75014.
A slow procession, guided by ambient music, unfolds as an initiatory path through the elements, where food becomes a place of communion and experimentation led by ritual. Conceived as a performative banquet in the heart of a deconsecrated church, this project explores the symbolic and sensitive potential of eating together—from the simplest daily gestures, such as washing one’s hands before coming to the table, to spiritual acts, like an olfactory meditation.
It is a collective rite in which culinary art becomes a mystical language, inviting each participant to cross a threshold, to live an experience of transformation and sharing, and to root themselves deeply in the musical performance of Aja, within her poetic, organic, and magical universe.
Imagined by Adèle Hugues, a passionate cook developing a curatorial practice at the intersection of art and gastronomy, La Magie du Quotidien took the form of a performative banquet held in a deconsecrated church.
Alongside Adèle and her culinary universe, I contributed to the staging and guided participants through rituals of purification and grounding: gestures with water and fragrance, the diffusion of incense, and energetic care offered throughout the banquet to heighten sensations and invite each person to fully immerse themselves in the present moment.
This performative presence opened the way to a collective and sensory transformation, where culinary art became a mystical language, and the meal revealed itself as an initiatory passage—between elevation and sharing.
